Ashtanga yoga in it's traditional form is taught "Mysore style". This is a method whereby the student is taught the series pose by pose, memorizing as they go. As the student becomes proficient with each posture, the teacher continues to give postures, working with each student individually & helping the student to develop a self practice.
Authorized Level 2 by the KPJAYI, Emma is the Director of Mysore, Toronto. With almost 2 decades of teaching & practicing under her belt, you're in safe hands. Emma makes her annual pilgrimage to Mysore, India to study with her teacher, R. Sharath Jois, & connect with her community. She believes that as a teacher she must be a student first & is constantly learning so that she can be a better teacher for you.
Sophia has over 17 years of experience practicing in multiple cities with multiple teaches including Sri K Pattabhi Jois and R. Sharath Jois. She has made her daily Ashtanga yoga practice an essential and necessary part of her busy life as a mom of three active kids. Having practiced under the guidance of Emma for over a year, she is delighted to have been invited to assist at Mysore, Toronto as the program grows.
